Prior to becoming a barangay , Bensican form apart and parcel of San Isidro Due to an increasing population and increase in the income of the people, a resolution was passed by the Sangguniang Bayan creating a separate barangay in the northern portion of San Isidro . Through willfull prayers of the inhabitants and leaders, their wish or proposal was blessed and Bensican was announced to become a new barangay. Brgy. Bensican got its name from a deep and winding creek which is the source of irrigation and the spring development is located at the mountainous place north and eastern part of this barangay . This runs through the residential areas of Bensican down to the Sabangan. Leaders during that time was headed by Don Primitivo Laureta , a native of this barangay. The inhabitants were very much engaged in planting tobacco, corn and vegetables but the prime source of income is farming. Barangay Bensican is bounded on the north by Brgy. Salapas on the south by Brgy. San Isidro on the west by Brgy. Malilion and on the east by Brgy. Dalumpinas.
